Common Optical Emission Spectrometer Troubleshooting
Apr 06 , 2022Common Optical Emission Spectrometer Troubleshooting
Spectrometers will inevitably have problems in their use. As instrument users, they often lack the necessary knowledge of instrument maintenance. We have summarized some common simple problems in the use of Optical Emission Spectrometer. I hope it can be helpful to business users: The computer of the new instrument freezes, the program is wrong, the screen is black, and the START status of the analysis software is incorrect. Sometimes it turns yellow and does not move. Sometimes it changes to red. Solution: This is a bad connection of the communication line, just reconnect it. Fault two: The Optical Emission Spectrometer 's exhaust is not smooth, the argon exhaust pipe is blocked, there is a foreign object in the elbow at the lower part of the spark chamber, and there is a foreign object at the inlet of the argon filter. Solution: Replace the exhaust pipe, replace the transparent plastic pipe, and purge the exhaust pipe regularly. Fault three: High temperature fault Solution: Check whether the fan of the rear cover of the instrument is rotating and whether it is flexible. Fault 4: The vacuum pump does not start automatically. Solution: first check whether the pump oil temperature is low. After the power is turned off again, manually start the vacuum pump. Sometimes it needs to stop and try again. Fault five: The stability of the Optical Emission Spectrometer P and S is not good. Check whether the vacuum pump is turned off by mistake and whether the vacuum optical path lens needs to be cleaned. A poorly maintained optical path will cause incorrect reproducibility and analysis results. Solution: Check the vacuum pump and lens cleaning failure. Six: The vacuum value drops quickly. Solution: Check whether the vacuum value curve is smooth. Otherwise, check the tightness of the vacuum cover of the vacuum chamber if there is air leakage. Replace the sealing ring or tighten it diagonally. Screws. Fault 7: The light intensity value of the Optical Emission Spectrometer has dropped. Analysis: 1. The lens is dirty. 2. The entrance slit is polluted. 3. The fiber is aged. Summary of experience: The Optical Emission Spectrometer has been used for a long time, and the excitation table will be hit too much, which will cause leakage and discharge. This will cause the light intensity to go up. You need to clean the excitation table and spark chamber frequently. Fault 8: Data is unstable. Treatment method: Re-standardize after cleaning the lens. The contamination of the lens of the instrument will cause the result of the data test to be unstable. If the instrument is not calibrated for a long time, the stability of the data test will also be poor.
