The analysis of pig iron cannot be separated from the high-frequency infrared carbon & sulfur analyzer. The impurity elements of pig iron are mainly silicon, sulfur, manganese, and phosphorus.  Pig iron is hard and brittle, lacks toughness, and has almost no plastic deformation ability. Therefore, it cannot be formed by casting, rolling, drawing and other methods.

Pig iron is an iron-carbon alloy with a carbon content of 2.11% -6.67% and a lot of non-ferrous impurities.  Pig iron is a blast furnace product, which can be divided into two categories: steelmaking pig iron and cast pig iron.  It is customary to call steelmaking pig iron pig iron, and cast iron is simply referred to as cast iron pig iron carbon and sulfur analysis instruments.  Foundry pig iron can change its internal structure, improve and improve its mechanical properties through forging, metamorphism, Spheroidization, etc. Therefore, cast pig iron can be divided into white cast iron, gray cast iron, malleable cast iron, ductile cast iron and special cast iron.  Pig iron can also be divided into ordinary pig iron and alloy pig iron. The former includes steelmaking pig iron and cast pig iron, and the latter is mainly ferromanganese and ferrosilicon.  Alloy pig iron is used as auxiliary materials for steelmaking, such as deoxidizer and alloy element additives.  Ordinary pig iron accounts for more than 98% of the blast furnace smelted products, and steelmaking accounts for more than 80% of China's current ordinary pig iron. With the progress of industrialization, this proportion will gradually increase.  From a broad perspective, iron is also divided into chemically pure iron (containing almost zero C), industrial pure iron (containing C <0.05%), and sponge iron, granular iron, and so on.  But they are not blast furnace iron smelting products, and they have different uses.  The pig iron carbon and sulfur analysis instrument can accurately test the carbon and sulfur content.  When the iron contains C in the range of 0.03% -1.2%, it is steel. Iron containing C1.2% -2.5% lacks practicality and generally does not carry out industrial production.
