What is the difference between Optical Emission Spectrometer and ICP spectrometer
Aug 25 , 2022What is the difference between Optical Emission Spectrometer and ICP spectrometer
Common points: The principle of the Optical Emission spectrometer is the same as that of the ICP spectrometer, both of which are emission spectrum principles.
Differences: 1. The ICP must be liquid-injected through a peristaltic pump, that is, all samples need to be digested with acid before analysis; the samples analyzed by Optical Emission Spectrometer are bulk metals, which require a smooth surface and a certain degree of compactness. Second, the scope of ICP analysis includes: metal, non-metal, solid, liquid, basically all need pretreatment; Optical Emission Spectrometer is for the analysis of bulk metals. 3. The analysis time of ICP and Optical Emission Spectrometer is within 1 minute, but the ICP sample requires a long pre-processing time. Therefore, most of the time of ICP is mainly used for component analysis and can be used as the result of arbitration. The pre-processing is relatively simple, so the analysis speed is fast, and it can be used as the intermediate control of production quality.
